Thanks Be Unto God

Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift!

The unspeakable gift referred to is the apostle Paul’s best description of Jesus Christ.  The unspeakable, indescribable gift, the gift of Jesus Christ and His gift of His life for our sin.  Jesus is the unspeakable gift, but His giving of His life as the ransom for many, and paying off our sin debt is the unspeakable gift that His life represents for you and me.  He has paid off our sin debt and made us right before the father, so therefore we are justified before God, even though it doesn’t look like it.  That’s why he told you you’re “justified by faith” as you “walk by faith.” This faith is in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Now, a gift is something that is unearned.  The gift in its purest sense goes beyond merit. A gift is something that is given as a reflection or a token of the heart of the giver to its recipient.  God is the giver.  It pleases God to always be the giver.  Remember, Jesus said of himself, “I came to serve and to give my life as a ransom for many.” So what I want you to understand today is that it still pleases God to give.  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in the gift of the Son should not perish, but have everlasting life.  Do you know that Jesus would have died on the cross if it had just been one person (you) on the planet?  His love goes beyond what we can understand. He has a love that is higher than human love.

Most people are thankful during this season for the natural things.  You’re thankful today for the home you live in, the bills you’ve paid,  food, health, jobs, family, etc.  We should be thankful for these natural things, but there are some spiritual things that come from the gift of Jesus Christ.   It may not look like you have them as a gift, but God wants you to be thankful for them because he told you he’s given them to you.

The scripture says the lamb was slain for the forgiveness of men’s sins before the foundation of the world…before the world itself was founded, God had already given the sacrificial lamb.  How can you give the sacrifice on the cross before the world exists?  This tells us of the work of God. He’s a supernatural God and He finished, in other words,  He left heaven, finished all his work in a world that had not yet been produced naturally, but in the spirit realm, He finished everything and when He got back to heaven the angels said, “We missed you, when did you leave and do all of this?”  Before you and I arrived on the planet, God already finished your life, and he put it all in the blood of Jesus.  When the blood was shed, your new life in Christ was activated.  So you’re not just thankful for what is seen and what is known, you’re also thankful for the unseen and the unknown, which is made known to us by His word.

When you receive from God, is hurting his feelings? No. He’s glad when you receive from him because He is the primary giver.  The greatest gift you can receive is Romans 8:1, “There is therefore now what no condemnation…” The gift of no condemnation.   The moment you received Jesus Christ into your life, you ceased you to ever be condemned in the eyes of our heavenly Father. No condemnation doesn’t mean that you won’t feel badly or regret some of your actions.  Sometimes you have to see what you’ve done and feel the pain of what you done in order to get what the gift of no condemnation really means.   I don’t think you can just go through life doing whatever you want and say “I don’t care, I’m saved, there’s no condemnation.”  No condemnation is simply no guilt before God for those who are in Christ.

Confess this…

“I rest in the gift of no condemnation.  I am thankful for the physical water, but I am also thankful for the spiritual water that I only receive because of Jesus.  I know who I am in Christ.  I am the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ.  I am not who I used to be.  Thank you for everything you’ve done for me through Jesus Christ.  My victory is in Christ, and I’m walking a triumphant march. My spirit may not have rest, but I know who I am in Christ.  The more I focus on Jesus, the more my spirit will quiet himself.”

This is called justification by Faith. If you keep walking the victory walk, confessing the gift of righteousness and no condemnation in your life, you will see the spiritual change start to change the natural realm.
